United Plaza Garage and Restoration

This project involved the structural rehabilitation and waterproofing of the multi-level parking garage located beneath United Plaza in Center City Philadelphia. The garage, serving a high-traffic commercial property, required a comprehensive life-extension program to address deterioration, improve drainage, and restore structural integrity. All work was performed while maintaining operational access to the facility, requiring careful phasing and coordination with building management.

Specific scope items included:

  • Removal and replacement of deteriorated full-depth concrete to restore structural capacity.
  • Surface restoration of delaminated slab areas.
  •  Targeted reinforcement and patching of beam stems.
  • Epoxy injection of structural cracks in vertical and overhead surfaces using ported systems.
  • Removal of existing membrane and installation of new epoxy-based waterproofing system with proper surface preparation and detailing.
  •  Installation of new sealant systems at slab edges and expansion joints.
