This project reflects a commitment to craftsmanship and historic preservation, honoring the legacy of renowned architect Frank Furness, while ensuring the building’s continued service to the university community.
Scope Highlights:
- Comprehensive Masonry Restoration: Including sandstone, terra cotta, and brick repointing, Dutchmen repairs, spall remediation, crack repairs, and tooling restoration.
- Stone and Terra Cotta Element Replacement: Window sills, balustrades, finials, and stair components were carefully removed, repaired, or replaced.
- Sealant & Waterproofing Work: Replacement of joint sealants at windows and base of building.
- Façade Cleaning & Stain Removal: Targeted cleaning of efflorescence, biological staining, and existing coatings to restore original material appearance.
