Memorial Hall Exterior Staircase Restoration

This project involved the restoration of the exterior staircase at Memorial Hall, a historic structure on the campus of The Lawrenceville School.
Scope Highlights:
- Careful removal, salvage, and reinstallation of existing stair treads, landing stones, coping stones, and newel columns.
- Repair of broken treads using stainless steel pins and epoxy.
- Dutchman repairs to damaged stone elements.
- Reconstruction of brownstone masonry using salvaged materials.
- Repointing 100% of historic rubble walls and stone masonry.
- Microabrasive cleaning to remove salt and surface crusts.
- Installation of new concrete foundation walls, footings, and grade beams.
- New bluestone water tables and base elements installed to match existing architectural detailing.
- Installation of new flashing systems beneath coping stones and water tables.
